April's Collection of the Month!

The Gelato Collection is made by the rug artisans in a small village outside Varanasi in India called Daniyalpur. Rug weaving is often the bloodline to the small communities and still is considered a cottage industry in many parts of India and Nepal. But what drew us to Daniyalpur is the pride and the integrity that is evident in every design in Gelato Collection.

The heart of Mafi rugs has always been to build a bridge between this centuries old eastern tradition and Western fashion. By supporting the rug artisans in Daniyalpur, the Gelato Collection allows us to share the same pride and integrity in every rug exclusively hand crafted and introduced by Mafi.

The Gelato Collection is a part of our Mafi Signature Series. "When you own a rug sealed with the Mafi Signature, the beauty and quality of the finished piece is evident in every strand of yarn, drop of dye and individual knot."
