One of the most effective ways to Design With Intention is to create a personal connection to the design project. Creating an idea book is one of the most effective ways to draw visual reward from exciting looks that may describe our design vision.
London interior designer Vanessa Brady shares our philosophy of designing with intention. She recommends putting together a lookbook – a set of photographs from magazines and other sources, including nature – that inspires you. You can also include color samples and fabric swatches that catch your attention, paying attention to how an area rug, a furniture setting or an accessory item is been displayed to create a visual stimulation.
Programs and sites like Pinterest, Houzz and Evernote are great for making digital lookbooks. Browse through Mafi International | Stickley’s online showroom for inspiring ideas you can pin or clip, or simply share your own idea book with us on Facebook.
